Care and support
Role:
Assist the interdisciplinary team to care for end-of-life patients and their families.
Tasks:
- Provide comfort care to patients (baths, mobilization, mouth care, filling water jugs, changing bed linen, etc.);
- Act as first responder when patients ring the call button;
- Take orders for meals, serve meals to patients and help them to eat when required;
- Return trays to the kitchen;
- Wash certain items (clothes, patient-lift slings, blankets, etc.);
- Fill up linen carts and make sure there are sufficient towels and washcloths in the therapeutic bathroom and in patients’ bathrooms;
- Carry out other tasks as needed.
Schedule:
Weekdays and weekends between 9 a.m. and 10 p.m. (4-hour shifts).
What we are looking for:
- Ability to provide patients with personal hygiene and other care;
- Great listening skills and empathy;
- Discretion and tact;
- Team player;
- Ability to prioritize tasks;
- Good physical condition (able to lift certain weights);
- Carry out other tasks as needed.
Dress code:
Role-appropriate clothes (slip-resistant shoes, comfortable clothes) that fit with the image of the MDC. No jewelry or perfume.
