GIVING TUESDAY NOW for palliative care 2020
5 May 2020
Frontline workers at La Maison des Collines are experts in responding to crisis with compassion and care. Every day they care for patients and accompany their families who are coping with the fear and uncertainty surrounding end-of-life.
As we strive to provide holistic care for patients and their families, we need your help to maintain our invaluable services.
We have all been deeply affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. La Maison des Collines is no exception. “Flattening the curve” of COVID-19 among the vulnerable populations we work with is of utmost importance, and as such, we have had to implement strict guidelines that have resulted in a significant increase in the requirements of staff and visitors to use enhanced personal protective equipment. We’ve had to think outside the box when it comes to our care approach. We have purchased iPads to ensure our patients stay connected, and are continuing to adapt as best we can.
We have also had to cancel fundraising events that have a huge impact on our ability to maintain vital services in our community.
This is why we have joined the initiative “Giving Tuesday Now” and are asking you to make a donation to La Maison des Collines today. Your donations will be used to fund the critical, acute needs of our frontline workers and the patients they care for at this time, including supplies, personal protective equipment and all the services you have come to expect from La Maison des Collines. In crises, more than ever, we need your support. Pandemic or not, there is no pause at the end of life.
